Teacher Bio

Aimee Knight (Glendora): Teaches violin and viola lessons on Tuesdays from 2:00pm-4:00pm, Wednesdays from 4:00pm-5:00pm, Thursdays from 3:00pm-5:00pm, and Saturdays from 2:00pm-3:30pm. She has been teaching at Gard’s Music since 2009. Aimee has a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Colorado College and a Master of Music Education from Azusa Pacific University with emphasis in string pedagogy. She has played the violin since the age of 9, performed in the APU Symphony Orchestra, Colorado College Chamber Orchestra, and the Young Concert Artists Orchestra of Colorado Springs. She is also the strings and orchestra director at Foothill Christian School in Glendora. Aimee’s pedagogical approach is a modified Suzuki method with focus on posture and technique for beginners but also has incorporated note-reading and sight singing. Her teaching philosophy is that learning should be fun, and people of any age can learn to play an instrument.
