Joyce Billman (Glendora): Teaches piano and voice on Tuesdays from 2:00pm-8:00pm and Wednesdays from 3:30pm-8:00pm. She has over 25 years of teaching experience and has been teaching at Gard’s Music for over 10 years. She learned voice at Long Beach City College and has been playing piano for more than 35 years. She is experienced in solo work and weddings as well! Joyce is a songwriter and played keyboard with the group called “Axiom”. She also has worship band experience!

Mary Durst

Mary Durst (Glendora): Teaches piano and voice on Mondays from 3:00pm-8:00pm, Tuesdays from 2:30pm-8:00pm, and Thursdays from 3:00pm-6:30pm. She has been teaching at Gard’s Music for 31 years and at Pasadena City College for more than 10 years. She studied music at Huntington College in Indiana, at Azusa Pacific University, and Cal Poly Pomona. She has been self-employed as a professional musician of jazz/commercial music for over 30 years. As an artist, she has had four original songs hit “Top 40” Smooth Jazz Radio between 2001 and 2005. She is a writer and editor of music and audio for television. She owns and operates Flex Studios in Burbank with her husband/musician Mary Durst. She is director of Music/Worship at Light and Life Church in Long Beach for the past 25 years. Jenny LaPolla

Jenny LaPolla (Glendora): Teaches piano and voice on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:00pm-8:00pm. She has been teaching at Gard’s Music for over 20 years and has been playing piano since she was only 4 years old. Jenny was trained theatrically in voice at Cal Poly Pomona. She is great with children and specializes in standard voice development for popular and light classical styles. She also works well with special needs individuals.

Leroy Osbourne

Leroy Osbourne (Glendora): Teaches guitar, bass, voice, and percussion on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 2:00pm-8:00pm, Fridays from 2:00pm-6:00pm, and Saturdays from 10:00am-12:00pm. He is a singer/songwriter, producer/arranger, and a multi-instrumentalist. He has been a resident of Glendora for over 20 years and born in the UK. He has a musical career spanning over 30 years, primarily as a studio musician/singer. He’s had writing and singing performances with artists such as Wham, Imagination, Tears for Fears, Jeff Lorber, Rick Braun, and Eric Marienthal, to name a just a few who can attest to his versatility as a musician. Leroy has also established a continuing association with world renowned musical artist Sade since her second album in 1984, and has toured with and recorded with her. Having returned from Sade’s Lovers Rock tour in 2002, Leroy started teaching at Gard’s Music and has had students aged 5 to 85, of all levels. When he isn’t teaching, he utilizes his talents for American Events Network as a singer/bass player for up-scale private functions, weddings, bar mitzvahs, and corporate events.
