Teacher Bio

Mary Durst (Glendora): Teaches piano and voice on Mondays from 3:00pm-8:00pm, Tuesdays from 2:30pm-8:00pm, and Thursdays from 3:00pm-6:30pm. She has been teaching at Gard’s Music for 31 years and at Pasadena City College for more than 10 years. She studied music at Huntington College in Indiana, at Azusa Pacific University, and Cal Poly Pomona. She has been self-employed as a professional musician of jazz/commercial music for over 30 years. As an artist, she has had four original songs hit “Top 40” Smooth Jazz Radio between 2001 and 2005. She is a writer and editor of music and audio for television. She owns and operates Flex Studios in Burbank with her husband/musician Mary Durst. She is director of Music/Worship at Light and Life Church in Long Beach for the past 25 years.
